Innovative Human-Machine Interfaces for Low Cost and High Capacity Prosthetic Hand
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper proposes building a low cost prosthetic hand with the same functionality of top-line ones that allow the selection of several grasping patterns but with innovative Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) based on hybrid Electromyography (EMG) with Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), image processing, Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) or voice commands. The development of these interfaces is to analyse which combination of HMI suits the best the needs of the users. The reason is to increase the quality of life of upper limb amputees by giving them access to a product with high performance but without the high cost that makes them inaccessible for most Brazilian who needs these prosthesis. As a result, it is expected an open hardware product, easy to maintain, and personalised.

Many defects in manufacturing system are caused by human resources that show the significance of the human resources in manufacturing systems. Most manufacturers attempt to investigate the human resources in order to improve the work conditions and reduce the human error by providing a proper work-rest schedule. On the other hand, manufacturer deal with machine scheduling based on demand and wo...
متن کاملInfluence of 10-MDP Adhesive System on Shear Bond Strength of Zirconia-Composite Interfaces
Introduction: This in-vitro study investigated the initial 24h bond strength between different composites and zirconia after application of four different adhesive systems. Methods: A total of 120 specimens of zirconia (InCoris, Sirona, Germany, Bernsheim) were ground with a 165 µm grit rotating diamond disc. Thirty specimens were each additionally treated with Cimara Zircon “CZ” (VOCO GmbH, ...
متن کاملBiomimetic Design and Development of a Prosthetic Hand: Prototype 1.0
This paper reports the biomimetic design and development of a prototype of extreme upper limb prosthesis. The motivation for developing a new prosthetic hand is provided by the fact that low functionality and low controllability are the most important reasons why amputees do not use their prosthetic hands. In addition, although multifingered hand prosthesis has appeared in the market, the cost ...

Introduction: This in-vitro study investigates the bond strength of different zirconia composites with three different modern adhesive systems after artificial aging using thermocycling and water storage. Methods: A total of 90 specimens of zirconia (InCoris, Sirona, Germany, Bernsheim) were ground using a 165 µm grit rotating diamond disc. Thirty specimens were additionally treated with eithe...
